We hope this finds you amid a glorious summer full of respite and relaxation.
Summer for me, is always a time of reflection. This past year has brought a lot of change for me, having lost both of my parents to longstanding health issues. Given that I cared for both in my home at different stages of their illnesses, friends, juggling similar responsibilities have recently reached out for advice. While I share that I am infinitely grateful for the opportunity to have walked my parents out of this life with the same care they brought me into this world, looking back, I do wish I was better prepared for the responsibilities and caretaking journey that was ahead.
Finally, don’t miss our Financial Feminism Webinar coming in September, which features a conversation with author Ryan Frederick on his excellent book Right Place, Right Time: The Ultimate Guide to Choosing a Home for the Second Half of Life which explores the role of caretaking deeply and gives useful, tangible tips for preserving independence and well-being as you age.
